Bio: Manhattan Community Board 10 is a local government agency of the City of New York encompassing the neighborhoods of Central Harlem in the Borough of Manhattan. Central Harlem has a population of approximately 107,00 people; occupies approximately 1.5 square miles of relatively flat land; and is often referred to as "the valley" by long-term residents. Community Board 10 aims to set the standard for what can be achieved for the residents of Central Harlem, by being the primary agent through which neighborhoods and communities are empowered to have a role in the planning of their futures. The office will embrace progressive ideals, proactive leadership and creative solutions and will reflect and respect the diversity of the District. We are committed to being one of the City's leading architects of, and advocates for, innovative policy initiatives that address foremost problems- particularly the City's crisis affordability and its persistent disparities and inequalities.
